Taking on the Masters 2016
The US Masters is one of the four major professional golf championships in the world of professional golf. This year's Masters took place in Augusta, Georgia at Augusta National Golf Course. There were 89 competitors, all of which were professional male golfers. Some of the most notorious golfers were in the competition- Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Paul Casey, Vijay Singh, Angel Cabrera, Danny Willett, Rory McIllroy, Phil Mickelson and many more. Many believed as the tournament came to a close that Spieth would take home the prize but as Spieth folded, Willett took the lead and won the US Masters 2016. Willett shot a 67, five under par, during the final round of the Masters. Willett had only accepted his invitation to play in the Masters two weeks prior because his wife had given birth to his firstborn, something he did not want to miss. His rankings have rocketed from 51th to the 12th in the Official World Golf Rankings within the last year. He usually plays in the European Tour. Winning the Masters has put him in the spotlight. This was his first career PGA Tour win. He now will bring the green jacket back home with him to England. It breaks the 20 year old drought for Europe. They have not had a golfer win the Masters in twenty years. Below is a video of clips where Willett was able to one up Spieth.
